Big Boi is a magnificent Great Pyrenees with a freckled face, light brown eyes, and a heart of gold. He came to Flying Pigs Sanctuary in a unique way—he’s the only animal on the farm that we’ve ever bought! After trying to rescue three other guardian dogs for our herd, we realized how urgent it was for Remi to have a reliable partner. Ritz kept escaping under the fence, Leo had an unfortunate scuffle with Messner (thankfully stopped quickly), and James was a skilled escape artist who would go right over the fence. With no time to spare, we found Big Boi—the last of his litter and discounted—and it turned out to be the best purchase we’ve ever made! While we always try to rescue first, in this case, we needed a proven protector, and Big Boi is truly the BEST.

Now, as Remi’s trusted partner, Big Boi takes his job as a guardian seriously, watching over the herd with unmatched dedication and care. His protective instincts are second to none, but when he’s off duty, his gentle, affectionate nature shines through.
