Moonpie

Moonpie’s journey began in January 2024 when she was found as a tiny puppy, abandoned by the river with a broken back leg. She came to us needing urgent care, and although we had only ever rescued older dogs before, we couldn’t say no to her sweet face. Raising a puppy was a brand-new challenge, and Moonpie reminded us daily that rescuing older dogs is much easier! But even with her mischief, she’s worth every moment.

Small but mighty, Moonpie has made her mark on the farm in more ways than one. She’s so tiny she can go wherever she pleases, which unfortunately ended our free-ranging days for chickens and ducks. After losing four beloved birds to what we thought was a predator, we finally caught Moonpie in the act! Now, thanks to her antics, the chickens and ducks have large, secure areas to keep them safe—and Moonpie has redirected her boundless energy elsewhere.

With her playful personality and adventurous spirit, Moonpie is always into something—whether it’s chasing Ritz, wrestling with Merle, exploring the farm, or finding her next bit of trouble. Life wouldn’t be the same without her spunky energy and cheeky grin.
