Phoenix

When we got the call about a homeless mama dog who had just given birth in the woods, we knew we had to act fast. Phoenix had been doing an incredible job keeping her pups safe, but the conditions were heartbreaking, and the clock was ticking. With no fosters available and no setup ready for a mom and pups, we turned to our friends at @soarescue_tn for advice. Together, we came up with a plan: temporary fencing went up around an empty house, heat lamps were added, and we set up our first-ever whelping box (I’m more familiar with rescuing pigs than puppies 🤣).

In less than a day, we were ready to bring Phoenix and her babies to safety. She climbed into the crate with complete trust, as if she knew this was her chance at a better life. The car ride was peaceful, and when we arrived at the farm, she settled in so beautifully it was almost magical. The next morning, we learned just how urgent her rescue had been: the woods where she’d been living had gone up in flames. If she and her pups had still been there, they wouldn’t have survived.

Now, Phoenix, rising from the ashes,  has truly embraced her new life. With her pups all adopted into loving homes, Phoenix has shown us what a star she really is. She’s not just a survivor; she’s an athlete of extraordinary talent. If we’d known how high she could jump, we might have named her Jordan after Michael Jordan! From a standstill, she can clear all our fencing with ease—her strength and agility are simply unmatched.
